Army Collector's Tournament Page
This is the home page for the Army Collector's Tournament where we will rate the armies that I have put forward in the previous pages. Like most tournaments (well, ALL tournaments that are worth their salt), it's about more than who wins the most games. Most tournaments take into account Sportsmanship, Best Painted army and Army Composition. Although there isn't much we can do about Best Painted and Sportsmanship categories in this self-played tournament, we can add another category that is very important to anyone who wishes to collect an army: Price. A points value will be assigned to each army based on how much it costs to collect.
Below are the Tournament Standings. Scroll down past them in order to get a description of the Scoring.

Tournament Scoring: (minimum of 20 points, maximum of 60 points)
Starting with 16 Armies we are going to work our way through brackets in the same way the NCAA works through their tournament starting at the Sweet 16. In other words, winners will continue playing winners where other armies of like records will play each other. After 4 rounds, this will produce one over-all winner who will have no losses (it is feasible that a winner could have no wins, but won all 4 of its games by a having the most points in a Draw result).
Here are the Scenarios that will be played:
Round 1: Pitched Battle
Round 2: Breakthrough
Round 3: Flank Attack
Round 4: Capture
Games will be scored as follows:
Victory: 15 points
Draw: 10 points
Lose: 5 points
In the event of a Draw, the army with the highest amount of Victory Points continues on in the winner's bracket.
Scoring for Price: (minimum of 0 points, maximum of 20 points)
Armies in this tournament are expected to run between $300 - $700 in total. Scoring in this category is simply a mathematical formula where the army gets 1 point for every $20 under $700 cost. Army Books and the Warhammer Fantasy rulebook are not considered part of this formula. In addition, the models that come in the Skull Pass book are considered "free" since the box costs only $10 more than the rulebook and it is assumed that a player needs the rulebook. (As you can see, this will give those two armies a leg up if those models are used).
Army Composition: (minimum of 0 points, maximum of 20 points)
The following Outline will be followed for determining Army Composition:
Points spent on Character models including mounts, magic items, virtues, gifts, etc.
Are there 2 or more Terror Causing units in the Army?
Yes = No points awarded
No = 3 points awarded
Are there 5 or more war machines (including chariots) in the army?
Yes = No points awarded
No = 3 points awarded
Points spent on War Machines including chariots, runs and crew upgrades.
Points spent on Core Unit choices:
More than 10 Power Dice in the magic phase? (Treat first bound item as 1 dice and every additional as 2 dice).
Yes = No points awarded
No = 3 points awarded
Does the army have a "large invincible unit?" Although this is a subjective category, the following rationale is being applied: Select the suspect unit in the army and award it 3 points. Deduct 1 point if it has more than 20 infantry or more than 10 cavalry models. Deduct 1 point if it is Unbreakable or Stubborn. Deduct 1 point if it has an armor save or Ward Save of 4+ or Regenerates.
