I know- all work and no play makes the Wiz a dull guy! But hey, with tax season here (lots of work to do), race season (several half-marathons to attend) AND the football play-offs, my gaming has taken a back seat for a spell. Sorry for those of you who have scowered these pages and need a new post to keep it interesting! Above and below are some shots of my Stormvermin- these are actually Gnoll models produced by Ral Partha a couple decades ago that I modified to make into an elite Skaven unit (tall, but thin- representing the measly Toughness 3 of the Stormvermin).

Looking ahead to the coming Beastmen release: On the left are the new Bestigors- 20 plastic models for $41.25. On the right are the Gors- 20 plastic models for $24.75. So, why $16.50 more for 20 plastic Bestigor models than Gor models? You don't get any more in the box... it can't be higher cost of production. The reason is that the Bestigors are going to be the beardy unbalancing factor in the new army- much like the Stormvermin in the Skaven. You'll be able to build out an entire army of core Bestigor units! That's realistic and true to the background of the army, now isn't it? This continues to annoy me to the fact that they are building a game system that sounds more like the Wizards of the Coast card games where pieces are valued based on how cheesy they are. The more powerful (and unbalancing) the component, the more expensive it is. Of course, this also means they can take away all the beardy goodness as soon as they change the rules again (which is what WoC has done in producing reprints of cards and what GW did when they transitioned from 4th Edition to 5th Edition).
As for me, I am anouncing an end to my 20-year pursuit of Warhammer Fantasy. Yes, I'll still play and work on my armies (I'm too heavily invested not to). But, I'm going to stop collecting the Army Books with this edition and fall back on the 6th Edition for Army Comp. This will enable me to keep playing without dealing with beardy super armies (and yes, that means no more tournaments). But, considering the gaming scene where I live is scant anyway, I'm not really missing out on much.
Anyway, sorry for the complaining. I just figured I'd tip some of my closer friends off as to why my website updates may have slowed down.
Thanks for Visiting!
